Complaints about Abercrombie & Fitch London Prices

As noted in a post here before, the press are starting to make a thing about the prices charged in the London store of Abercrombie & Fitch. Generally, items in the UK are the same amount in pounds as they are in dollars – so a fleece jumper costing £70 here would be priced at $70 in the US. And with the current weak Dollar, that’s only about £36!

So, instead of heading down to A & F in Saville Row, jump on a plane instead! Just don’t tell customs how much you’ve bought when you get back into the country! …sorry, I mean DO tell customs, of course DO tell them…

Advert for Madonna’s H & M Line

The “Director’s Cut” (i.e. the slightly more risque version than what is currently being shown on TV) is here….

I like it! It’s much hotter than the clothes themselves! And Madonna manages to act really well in this 1 minute 30 second movie.

BTW, isn’t that the girl from last year’s Shipwrecked in the background? Early on, standing behind Madonna, on the right. You know, the fairly good looking bisexual with big…teeth?

Abercrombie & Fitch Opens in London

It’s all go in clothes world in London… Abercrombie & Fitch opened their first European store today, located near the famed Savile Row, which is better known for its upmarket, traditional mens’ tailors. The London press have made much of the new staff working in the store; few have previous retail experience, but all are fantastically good looking and most are models of some sort. And who would you rather buy from – a good salesman, or a pretty dude?!

Urgh, the prices though! £70 for a fleece jumper? I hate £ – $ price comparison!! (Unless I’m spending in the US, in which case it’s great!)

Madonna’s Latest Range for H & M Unveiled Today

The doors of H & M stores across the land opened today with the extra addition of Madonna’s second clothes range for the company. The range was apparently well received, with reports that shoppers were grabbing up clothes like there’s no tomorrow. Morning show GMTV had an amusing segment this morning, though – the reporter stood outside the Oxford Circus flagship store where nine people queued to get in…and were outnumbered by press and photographers.

This line of clothes is a vast improvement on the tracksuits that she designed for the company last year. Who wants a tracksuit from H & M, or one designed by Madonna? The clothes, however, are supposedly not of overly good quality. Whilst the same can perhaps be true of a lot of H & M stuff, these clothes are at prices which are typically 25% higher than most other H & M clothes. Surely the point of H & M clothes is that you can buy a cute item for £10 or £20, wear it once, discard it. Whose gonna do that with more expensive stuff??

You can catch the Madonna’s clothes for H & M at their UK website.
