Glastonbury tickets sell out in under 2 hours…sigh…

Tickets for this year’s Glastonbury Festival have already sold out, only 1 hour and 45 minutes after going on sale! This beats 2005’s record where tickets sold out in 3 hours. This year, 137,500 tickets were available to purchase on the web or by phone from 9am this morning, with all purchasers requiring a special number (in an effort to stop ticket touts) which they got by pre-registering a month or so ago. Just under 400,000 people took part in the pre-registration process.

The website and phone lines did seem to struggle under the pressure of everyone attempting to book, but I guess some must have got through! I wasn’t one of the lucky ones able to get a ticket…was anyone here?

Edit: Apparently, “round 2” happens on Sunday 22nd April, when return tickets go back on sale. There’ll probably be about 5 available!! Who returns a ticket to Glastonbury?!
