Good for Simon Cowell. As for the love of my life, Hugh Laurie, I know he got a nice raise (up to what WE in the U.S. call $300,000 an episode) after the show became a big success. Considering the usual way tv contracts are written, I would expect he's contracted for 5 years, and so I would expect him to get a really whopping salary increase (pay rise?) to re-enlist for a couple more years. Heck, I think a lot of his fans would chip in to pay his salary themselves. He works really hard, and deserves every penny. Hey, here in America, we like capitalism. Good for Simon Cowell.
